Mindful Eating and Your Favourite Pair of Blue Jeans

Mindful eating.

This is a concept I love learning more about. While planning our Spring Retreat to focus on aligning and grounding our chakras, I have learned that there are foods specific to each chakra and I am looking forward to learning more about this.

A few years ago I began a journey of coaching people through a 30 day program that has changed my life.

For 30 days, you eliminate foods that are acidic, commonly cause allergies, inflammation, elevated blood sugar levels and among other things like bloating, brain fog, indigestion, gas, sleep and skin issues… well the list goes on. You focus on learning how to replace these foods in your diet with healthier options while improving your gut health and resetting your system.

The program is entwined with an Ayurvedic influence and allows you to discover how certain foods effect your body. The end goal is to live a healthier lifestyle that empowers you to make better decisions about what foods you feed you and your family.

The first time coaching the program, I was learning along with everyone and I strictly followed through with the 30 day commitment. Following through yields the best results and this is so true in all areas of our lives.

The biggest aha for me was learning what brain fog meant because for the first time, I realized I didn’t have it.

Wow, what a difference.

It was staggering how much healthier I felt and although it wasn’t easy and cleansing your system is not a comfortable process at first, the benefits and results are transformational if you can make it through the tough parts.

Man it feels good when you can do up your favorite pair of jeans comfortably.

The more I coached the program, the more I learned. Each time I did the program I got healthier and still I continue to learn more about nutrition and living a healthier lifestyle every time I do it.

One of my favourite recipes is (https://ohsheglows.com/2016/11/23/cozy-butternut-sweet-potato-and-red-lentil-stew/). You really can’t go wrong with any recipe for the Oh She Glows cookbooks.

At our retreats, we incorporate eating mindfully and teach Ayurvedic principles that are fascinating to learn about. Ayurveda is a natural system of medicine that originated in India more than 3,000 years ago.

We love teaming up with local businesses and practitioners to create magical experiences for you.

I read the perfect quote in the book I started reading today: “Investing in yourself is the best investment you will ever make. It will not only improve your life, it will improve the life of all those around you.” -The Monk Who Sold his Ferrari, a Spiritual Fable about Fulfilling your Dreams and Reaching your Destiny.

You deserve a day for you. Our one day retreats are the perfect way to treat yourself to time that recharges you and gives you that space to focus on you. We are filled with gratitude that our Spring Retreat is full and are busy planning a summer retreat here at White Trees.

Bring on summer and all the yummy, healthy foods!!
